Nightmare of Safiyah

'''Nightmare of Safiyah''' is the Nightmare form of Safiyah, who in human form was Commander Zavala's wife and died before the season's story begins. In Season of the Haunted she appears as a non-human entity, described as a creature created by the Pyramids to haunt those who feel fear or regret. Players meet her in the opening mission on the Derelict Leviathan, where Commander Zavala asks them to hold back from destroying her and to follow where she leads.

Season of the Haunted

Her Nightmare is tied to the Season of the Haunted storyline. Community sources note that Zavala likely feels guilt and regret over how Safiyah died, which is why her Nightmare appears on the Derelict Leviathan. The Derelict Leviathan has been inaccessible since Lightfall removed its patrol.
