"8: Observer Effect" is entry 8 of 19 in the lore book The Pigeon and the Phoenix, a Season of Dawn lore book about Saint-14 and Osiris and their time together before Osiris's exile. The triumph is completed by unlocking the entry, and it has no listed description. Entries are read afterwards in the lore records.

How to unlock

1. Start the Corridors of Time activity (tied to the Bastion Exotic quest from Season of Dawn).
2. Pick the runes in this order, one per room: Clover, Plus, Clover, Hexagon, Clover, Diamond, Snake.
3. At the end of the pathway the entry drops. Walk forward toward the tomb to be returned to the start, then repeat for the next entry.

Summary of the entry

In a valley battle, eight Guardians of the Firebreak Order are killed and their Ghosts flee toward a ridge. Saint-14 reaches a crater where Elriq is sheltering, afraid to fight after already having died once. Osiris arrives, assaults the attacking Fallen, and is apparently killed by a Captain's scorch cannon. Saint tells Elriq, "This is a new choice. You are only what you want to be." Together they prepare to recover the eight Guardians' Ghosts.
