History of On the Double

Overview

On the Double is a Triumph in Destiny 2. It requires completing the Exotic mission Dual Destiny in the Pale Heart within the time limit set for the triumph. The mission needs exactly two players: one on a Light subclass and one on a Darkness subclass.

How to complete

1. Unlock the mission. Complete Overthrow Tier 3 and defeat the boss in The Landing, The Blooming and The Impasse. After each boss, find and defeat the Secret-Keeper Wizard.
2. Find the beam of light near The Refraction and enter the cave. Interact with the relic to get the "Savathûn's Envoy" buff, which lasts seven minutes.
3. Defeat the two Subjugators that spawn. Each drops a Refracted Light orb and a Sublimated Darkness orb.
4. Carry one Light orb and one Darkness orb per player into the cave and dunk them in the matching pools before the buff expires.
5. A successful dunk unlocks the Dual Destiny node on the account permanently.
6. Play through the mission: infiltration, a symbol puzzle, two jumping puzzles, a clock puzzle, then the final boss fight against Expectors Selin and Yemiq.

Tips

• The mission timer starts at about 6 minutes. Completing major puzzle sections adds about 10 minutes, and some enemies, such as Lightbearer Wizards, can add time too.
• Running out of time at some checkpoints sends the fireteam back to orbit or restarts the encounter, so keep the timer in mind on every section.
• The final choice, to fight or to choose peace, does not change the reward.
