Pale Heart

Overview

The Pale Heart is a free-roam destination inside the Traveler and the main setting of The Final Shape. It mixes locations from earlier Destiny campaigns, such as the old Tower, the Dreaming City and the Darkness Pyramid ships, reinterpreted from the Traveler's perspective. It becomes more chaotic the deeper players go.

The Witness

At the end of Lightfall, The Witness used the Veil and the Traveler to open a portal into the Pale Heart. From there it gained almost complete control over the Traveler's Light before starting the Final Shape. A raid team breached its monolith, cut the Witness's hold on the Traveler's Light and forced it to flee. The Witness was later destroyed in a Coalition counterattack. The raid Salvation's Edge (released June 2024) takes place in that monolith.
