Overthrow

Overview

Overthrow is a public-event style activity in The Pale Heart added with Destiny 2: The Final Shape. It can be launched from the map in The Landing, The Blooming and The Impasse, and you can matchmake into it.

Mechanics

Players defeat 1,000 enemies three times to lock three nodes and summon a boss. Optional mini public events give about 500 points toward each stage and spawn chests. In the boss fight you deplete health chunks, then perform a mechanic (for example dunking in poison pools or using Hive swords on nodes) to remove shields. The Blooming version pits the Witness's forces against the Hive; see Overthrow in Progress and Overthrown for the related stage states.

Rewards

Deepsight weapons and destination mods. Each day one region is highlighted on the map (larger icon) and the boss chest there is very likely to give a random-roll Ergo Sum.
