Planetary Piston Hammer

Overview

The Planetary Piston Hammer is the tool Failsafe gives you during the Specimen ID: NES001 quest in Echoes. It is used to smash Planetary Assimilation Pistons, which appear at random locations during Breach Executable runs. The game does not highlight a piston's location until you are very close to it.

Use

Walk up to a piston and interact with it. This uses one hammer charge. Smashing a piston activates it and causes bonus Radiolite samples to spawn nearby. Samples are shared across the fireteam, and they can be donated to Failsafe at the H.E.L.M. for Echoes gear and other resources.

Charges

The hammer holds a maximum of five charges. It refreshes one charge each day, and extra charges can be earned by completing Breach Executable or the Enigma Protocol activity.

Quest credit

You do not need to activate a piston yourself. As long as another member of the fireteam can interact with one, you also get quest credit.
