Powerful Cap

The Powerful Cap is one of the two power level limits in Destiny 2, alongside the Pinnacle Cap. Gear from Powerful sources can only raise a player to the Powerful Cap, and Pinnacle sources are needed beyond it. Its numeric value changes with each season.

Nightfall guidance is set relative to these caps. On Legend, the suggested minimum power is 10 below the Pinnacle Cap or the Powerful Cap, the only difficulty that references the Powerful Cap. On Hero it is 40 below the Pinnacle Cap, and on Master it is 20 above. On Grandmaster it is 40 above the Pinnacle Cap, lowered to 15 above by Contest modifiers.
