The Refraction

The Refraction is a private zone of The Pale Heart in The Final Shape, lying between The Landing and The Blooming. Most of it is narrow caves filled with Awoken-designed structures, opening into a larger middle section. During Operation Ahamkara the Vanguard set up a camp here called the Refuge of Repose.

Enemies include Xivu Arath's Horde, the Dread and the Lucent Brood, with the Hive and Taken as hostile races. Cysts activities such as Sword Dance and Moth-Infested Cavern take place here.

Feathers and puzzle

The Refraction holds five Feathers of Light, placed on rocks, tree branches and platforms around the zone.

A glowing chest in the area is opened with a Refracting Prismatic key. The key is earned by solving a runic puzzle in the same room: a Solar crystal is deposited onto fire plates in a set order. An Omen boss drops the key when defeated. The chest awards the Facet of Justice Prismatic Fragment, which makes ability final blows explode while transcendent and grants +10 Intellect.
