History of Shaping: Extraction

Overview

Shaping: Extraction is a The Witch Queen era (Season 16) tutorial quest for Deepsight Resonance and weapon crafting. It becomes available at the Relic Conduit in the Enclave on Mars right after The Relic. It takes about 15-30 minutes.

Walkthrough

1. Obtain a Resonant weapon from the Throne World, rituals or other activities, then extract its Pattern or dismantle it.
2. Complete the weapon objective (check the weapon tooltip or details screen) to unlock its Pattern and Resonant Elements.
3. Extract or dismantle a Deepsight Resonant weapon for Weapon Pattern progress. This gives one segment of a Pattern and consumes the weapon's Resonance.
4. Return to the Relic Conduit in the Enclave on Mars.

Rewards

• A Weapon Pattern pair: Syncopation-53 (Pulse Rifle) and Palmyra-B (Rocket Launcher), per ProGameTalk and the Destiny 2 Wiki, plus Resonant Alloy (five, per Destiny 2 search summaries).
• Leads on to "Reshaping the Enigma".

• Sources describe the rewards as Stasis weapons; they say nothing about sunset status.
