History of Shaping Slab

The Shaping Slab is a Taken artifact owned by Eris Morn that serves as the vendor for Episode: Heresy. It has two paths, Path of Resolve and Path of Ambition. Each path has its own reputation ranks, rewards and vendor upgrades, and both provide engram focusing. You can switch between the paths at any time once you have unlocked both.

Path of Resolve

Path of Resolve is available from the start. Its vendor sits in Eris Morn's apartment in The Last City, and its progression unlocks as you move through the first act of Episode: Heresy.

Path of Ambition

Path of Ambition requires completing the Writ: Path of Ambition quest in the second act of Episode: Heresy. The quest needs a Tithing Wormspawn, collected separately. The steps run through the Dreadnaught to the Wizard Xvaak, Waybearer, and end with the "Embrace Ambition" survival encounter against Taken Thralls, Captains and War Beasts. Afterward, return to Eris Morn's apartment and interact with the Taken Orb and then the Shaping Slab to finish.

Rank rewards on Path of Ambition include Metastasized Essentia, Power of Ambition, and Amorphous Scripture: Ultimate Power, which is used with the Tome of Want. Sigil Stones reward a short damage boost and clear Suffocating Terror stacks when consumed.
