Silver

Silver is Destiny 2's premium currency. It is bought with real money and spent at Eververse Trading Company on cosmetics. It cannot be earned through play. Bright Dust is the free currency, earned through seasonal objectives, bounties and event quests, and it is also used at the Eververse for cosmetics.

Some cosmetics are sold only for Silver, such as certain crossover sets and exotic ornaments. Bungie has said the Silver store helps fund continued development of the game. Older guides mention Silver-priced items that were also available for Bright Dust; the split between the two has changed over time, so check the current store listings.

Silver is also not the same as the Silver Leaf or Silver Ash used by the 2022 Solstice event.
