Sudden Death

Overview

Sudden Death is the overtime rule in Breakthrough, the 4v4 competitive Crucible mode. Breakthrough rounds start with a contest for a central breaker point. The team that captures it attacks the enemy base, which it must hack within the round time limit, while the defending team tries to hold out.

Resolution

If the round timer runs out while the attacking team is still hacking the enemy Vault, the round continues into overtime. The round ends when the hack completes or when the defenders erase all of the attackers' progress.
