Overview
Supercooled Accelerator is a common Haft perk that optimizes weapons for extended reach. It moderately increases Range, with minor penalties to Reload Speed and Handling. The perk is a straightforward choice when range matters more than quick handling, making it ideal for weapons used at medium to long distance.
Mechanics
The perk applies a range boost that extends the effective damage falloff distance of weapons, allowing them to maintain full or near-full damage output at greater ranges. This benefits weapons naturally suited to ranged combat: Linear Fusion Rifles, Slug Shotguns, and Sniper Rifles where barrel length plays a central role. The minor reductions to reload and handling speed are the trade-off for the range gain.
Weapons
Supercooled Accelerator appears on a wide variety of weapons across multiple weapon types:
- Winterbite (Linear Fusion Rifle)
- Vexcalibur (Linear Fusion Rifle)
- Edge of Action (Sword)
- Judgment of Kelgorath (Sword)
- Lubrae's Ruin (Sword)
- Nezarec's Whisper (Linear Fusion Rifle)
- High Tyrant and others (various weapon types)
When to Use
Supercooled Accelerator is most valuable on weapons where range directly impacts damage output or effective engagement distance. For Linear Fusion Rifles in Nightfalls and Dungeons, the extended range enables damage from safer distances. On Swords, it extends the lunging distance, allowing more aggressive positioning without getting too close to threats. It pairs well with perks that reward distant kills or sustained fire.
History
Supercooled Accelerator was introduced in Season 16 as part of a refresh to melee weapon perks. It has appeared consistently on new weapon drops since its debut and remains a staple range option for haft perks.
