History of Synthoceps

Overview

Synthoceps are Exotic Titan gauntlets from Year 1 of Destiny 2. Their perk, Biotic Enhancements, increases melee lunge range (about 50%) and boosts melee and Super damage when you are surrounded (3 or more enemies in PvE, 2 in PvP). Update 7.3.0 reworked the perk to also improve weapon handling and reload speed while surrounded, per Destinypedia. The lore describes bio-matter that bonds with its wearer.

Acquisition

• Exotic engrams and as an extremely rare world drop.
• Xûr: occasionally sold for 23 Legendary Shards.
• The in-game data also links it to the Solar quest Exalting the Flame; sources do not explain this, so treat it as unconfirmed.
