The Rubicon

Overview

The Rubicon is a lore book added with The Final Shape. Its entries are gathered in the Salvation's Edge raid.

Unlocking

Entries come from two sources. Calcified apples are scattered around the raid, and the raid mod puzzle unlocks the rest. The puzzle requires completing 5 of its 10 listed triumphs first. Solving it means locking two hidden conductors to the matching resonance type, following the shape order shown on the wall display. Conductor 5 is found after the second encounter, past the unstable resonance pillars, through the grate into the separated room. A successful run spawns a chest after the final encounter with a raid mod, 5 Spoils of Conquest, and a Rubicon entry.

Contents

The book has eight entries: Acheron I and II, Styx I and II, Phlegethon I and II, Lethe, and Eunoe. They are monologues from people who helped form the Witness and later turned against it as Dissenters. Some entries read like a gardener, a historian, a philosopher, and someone grieving a lost friend.
