Thieving Wretch

Overview

The Thieving Wretch is a special Screeb mini-boss in the Warlord's Ruin dungeon. It flees when a player gets close and drops Dark Ether Tinctures, which are needed for the In the Shadow of the Mountain quest.

Locations

Thieving Wretches spawn at fixed points in the dungeon: on the first rope bridge at the start, in the maze after the prison, and on the cliffs after the second boss fight.

Farming

The fastest method is the bridge spawn at the start. Don't kill the Wretch outright. Attack it as it runs across the bridge, then jump off to wipe before it reaches the far side. You respawn at the start, and the Wretch respawns with you. If it is killed or escapes, it reappears at its next location. Once you have collected the bones needed for a quest step, keep farming the first Wretch until you can progress.
