History of Vanguard Ciphers

Overview

Vanguard Ciphers are a currency used with Zavala to focus some gear from Arena Ops and Pinnacle Ops. They are available as of the Monument of Triumph update.

Uses

Ciphers pay for some Arena Ops and Pinnacle Ops equipment that Zavala offers. Rare items, such as the Bushido armor set and weapons that drop from Pinnacle Ops, also require Ciphers, along with Vanguard Engrams and Glimmer.

Acquisition

Ciphers drop from activities in the Vanguard Ops playlist, but drops are inconsistent. Arena Ops is the most consistent source reported. Its six-player, matchmade missions take about 10 to 15 minutes. Ciphers drop on regular difficulty, and higher difficulties may yield more, though this is unconfirmed.
