Vex Mythoclast Catalyst

Overview

Vex Mythoclast Catalyst is the Exotic Catalyst Triumph for Vex Mythoclast, a Solar Exotic Fusion Rifle in the energy slot that uses primary ammunition. Obtain the catalyst from Vault of Glass, then defeat 700 combatants with the weapon to charge and apply it.

Catalyst acquisition

Own Vex Mythoclast before attempting the five-plate puzzle in Vault of Glass. A player with the weapon activates each plate; other fireteam members can help destroy its Oracles. Watch their appearance sequence and shoot them in that same order after they all spawn.

1. Activate the plate in the Waking Ruins near the entrance.
2. Solve the plate in the room containing the raid's second hidden chest.
3. After defeating the Templar, take the side passage toward the Gorgons' Labyrinth and solve its plate.
4. Solve the plate on the labyrinth side of the final jumping chasm.
5. Solve the plate on a stationary platform in the chasm near the hidden portal. Reach that portal with Vex Mythoclast to receive the catalyst.

Complete the puzzles in one raid instance. Solving the portal puzzle obtains the catalyst; it does not replace the 700-defeat upgrade objective.

Upgrade and effect

Use Vex Mythoclast for final blows in an enemy-dense activity, then apply the charged catalyst in the weapon socket. Calculated Balance grants temporary bonus damage, accuracy and stability after final blows or rapid hits in full-auto mode. Rapid-hit activation was added in update 9.7.0; older guides describe only kills or the original stability effect. The triumph does not grant another copy of the weapon.
