History of 10 Hygiea

Overview

10 Hygiea is an asteroid in the Asteroid Belt and a major Awoken settlement under the Reef. It is the home of the largest division of the Reef Cryptarchy, whose libraries cover much of the asteroid. During the Reef Wars the settlement was attacked by the Fallen House of Wolves.

Cryptarchs

The Reef Cryptarchs regard the Engram as "the purest state of matter." They still decode Engrams for Guardians, but reluctantly and mainly to advance their science. They buy Axiomatic Beads, House Banners, Network Keys and Silken Codex for 200 Glimmer each, and are the only Cryptarchs who buy Royal Amethyst. Known Reef Cryptarchs include Master Ives (deceased) and Sjalla.
