Reef Cryptarchy

Overview

The Reef Cryptarchy is the Cryptarch faction of the Reef. Its members regard the Engram as matter in its purest form and see protecting civilization's information infrastructure as their main duty. The Tower's Cryptarchs decrypt Engrams to uncover Golden Age secrets; the Reef's Cryptarchs will decode Engrams for Guardians, but grudgingly and mostly to further their science.

Location

The faction works out of many libraries across the Reef. Its largest division is on the asteroid 10 Hygiea.

Vendor

Decoding Engrams raises a Guardian's Crypto-Archeology reputation. The Reef Cryptarchy buys Axiomatic Beads, House Banners, Network Keys and Silken Codex for 200 Glimmer each, and buys Royal Amethyst, a House of Wolves story reward, for 2,500 Glimmer (small gems) or 5,000 Glimmer (large gems).

Notable figures
