Coalition

The Coalition is the rebel alliance opposing The Witness, formed to defend the Sol System from the Witness, its Disciples and Xivu Arath. It brings together the Last City Guardians and Vanguard, the Imperial Cabal under Empress Caiatl, the Eliksni House of Light under Mithrax, Neomuna under the Cloud Strider Nimbus, and the Reef under Mara Sov. In Ash & Iron it moves to stop Maya Sundaresh and her alternate-timeline Red Legion.

Story

The alliance grew out of an armistice with Caiatl and a joint Vanguard-Cabal operation against Savathûn's Lucent Brood. Caiatl then warned that the Witness was emerging. The Coalition defeated the Nightmares of Crow, Zavala and Caiatl, which cut Calus's link to the Lunar Pyramid; Calus still became a Disciple of the Witness. It defeated Eramis's pirate crews and secured Nezarec's relics, which let Mithrax revive Osiris.

In Neomuna the Coalition allied with the Cloud Striders against Calus. Later the Witness used Ghost to open the Veil. Savathûn was resurrected to help reach the Pale Heart. There Crow entered first, the Coalition followed through the portal and set up base in the Lost City, and the Guardian drove the Witness out and stopped the Final Shape.
