Dissonance

Overview

Dissonance is a Crucible PvP map set aboard the terraformed Pyramid vessel orbiting Earth, located in the Essence. It was introduced as part of the Into the Light content update released on April 9, 2024, during Season of the Wish. The map was added to the Crucible playlist rotation on May 7, 2024.

Setting & Design

Uniquely among Crucible maps, Dissonance takes place on the Black Fleet structure itself—the Pyramid vessel shown in the Root of Nightmares raid. The map's architecture reflects the mysterious technology of the Witness and its servants, with an aesthetic distinct from traditional Destiny 2 destinations. This setting ties directly into the narrative of the Lightfall expansion and The Final Shape's central conflict.

Gameplay Context

Dissonance was part of the Into the Light content bridge released between Season of the Wish and The Final Shape expansion. This period saw significant PvP content investment, with three new Crucible maps debuting: Eventide Labs on Europa, Cirrus Plaza in Neomuna, and Dissonance on the Pyramid.

Access & Availability

Dissonance became available as a standard Crucible map during the season, accessible to all players through normal Crucible playlist rotation. Players engage with the map through Control, Rift, and other standard Crucible modes depending on current playlist offerings.
