Control

Overview

Control is a team Crucible mode where teams capture and hold zones on the map while eliminating opponents. The in-game description: achieve victory by capturing zones and defeating opponents. It is launched as a Matchmade playlist from the Crucible node in the Director; in Destiny 2 it is played 6v6.

Rules

Teams capture three zones. Scoring in Destiny 2: eliminations and zone captures score points, with kills worth more while your team holds two or three zones. Holding two zones is generally considered the sweet spot; trying to hold all three can stretch a team thin. Heavy ammo spawns near the A and C points, and defensive Supers are valuable for zone defence. Exact point values have changed across seasons.

Rewards

Crucible weapons and armor such as the Last Discipline and Triumphal Anthem sets (see rewards list), plus Crucible Reputation progress with Lord Shaxx.
