Dread Bearers

Dread Bearers are elite Scorn enemies (Ultra Scorn Chieftains or Raiders) that spawn during the horde phases of Nightmare Containment. They have yellow health bars and are tough to take down alone. Each Dread Bearer killed drops a Core of Dread.

Overview

Tier One starts with two Dread Bearers, and the third phase (a repeat of the first) adds two more. Tier Two uses the same mechanic and can also turn Abominations into Dread Bearers. In Tier Three, Nightmare of Navôta, Eir-Spawn summons two Dread Bearer Raiders after losing a third of her health, and her shield drops once their Cores are deposited.

Cores of Dread

Carry a Core to the Nightmare Harvester and deposit it. The deposit grants a large batch of Shards of Dread, which end a phase when enough are collected. It also spawns a Dread Devourer with a small group of Scorn; the Devourer heads for the Harvester and steals Shards on contact, so every Core is a trade-off.

The Harvester also periodically produces a Scythe Relic that can be used against enemies.
