History of Elemental

Overview

Every attack in Destiny 2 deals a damage type. Kinetic damage has no element. The elemental types are Solar, Arc, Void, Stasis and Strand. Each one has its own status effects and shield types.

• Solar burns targets with Scorch; enough stacks lead to Ignite.
• Arc applies Blind and other disruption.
• Void is the element of Invisibility and Void buffs.
• Stasis freezes targets; see Freeze and Stasis crystals.
• Strand is the element of Strand shields and Shield matching.

Enemies can carry elemental shields that take extra damage from the matching element. See Shield.
