Expert: Vostok

Overview

Expert: Vostok is the Expert 50-wave difficulty of the Vostok map of Onslaught, a three-player wave-defence Seasonal Arena activity where fireteams defend an Advanced Defensive Unit (ADU) against 50 waves of Hive or Fallen (Eliksni) combatants. The map is set at Felwinter Peak (Vostok). Listed power is 2000 (original Onslaught maps; Expert-tier 'Vanguard forces' defence variant).

Launching

Select Onslaught from the Director and choose the Expert tier once it is unlocked. The two Onslaught difficulty types are the playlist/10-wave set and the full 50-wave run (ten waves per set, five sets).

Map notes

Vostok has open spaces with small chokepoints; the easiest map to recover from a bad wave and the usual pick for Wave 50 clears.

Mechanics

• Earn Scrap by scoring kills and spend it on turrets, decoys, sweeper bots and tripmines between waves; throw ADU Cores at defences to repair them.
• Waves 2, 5 and 8 of each set are bonus-objective waves (these supply Heavy ammo), waves 3 and 9 are augment waves, wave 6 is a rift wave and wave 10 is a boss wave. Extinguish activates by default on higher difficulty.
• Bosses drop chests with BRAVE Arsenal weapons and Tokens of Bravery.
• Tips: pick Hive over Fallen (fewer damage-immune units), run Machine Guns for add and Tormentor control, and swap to single-target damage before bosses.
