First Contact

Overview

First Contact is the opening campaign mission of Destiny 2: Lightfall. The Guardian infiltrates the Shadow Legion fleet in Neptune orbit to find Osiris and sow chaos through the ranks, using Strand to stop the Cabal. It begins aboard a ship bound for Neptune and ties to Neomuna and The Last City in the story. Recommended Power was 1620 at launch.

Difficulties

Variants are Normal, Advanced, Expert, Master and Legendary. Legendary caps Power at -10 and adds Chaff and Galvanized; Master caps at -20 and adds Barrier and Unstoppable Champions plus Void-damage modifiers (TheGamer guide; these are launch-era numbers).

Encounters

1. Sabotage the Cabal fleet: break vents and clear the hangar.
2. Restricted area: kill a Keymaster for a keycard.
3. Computer core: take the bridge, drop to the underbelly and destroy the four power sources of the ship's computer core.
4. Cross to Osiris's ship: hop across floating debris killing Cabal at range.
5. Reactor room: reach the reactor through vents and destroy it (two radiators on Master).
6. Escape pod finale: multiple Keymasters and a Tormentor boss; shoot its shoulders until they break, then the chest.

Rewards

Campaign progress; the sources opened do not list specific drops.
