Shadow Legion

Overview

The Shadow Legion is a Cabal legion, not a Fallen group. It is the personal army of Emperor Calus, a Disciple of the Witness, made up of his former Loyalists and deserters from Empress Caiatl's Imperial Cabal. They use Black Fleet technology to fight Guardians and suppress their powers, and they sometimes work with Fallen mercenaries such as the Revenant Scorn. Their commanders were the Witness and Calus, both now dead. After their deaths the Legion fell under Yirix of the Psion Conclave, who pursues the rebel Psions' own agenda. Their ranks include devoted Cabal soldiers, many of them cloned and conditioned for obedience.

Locations and appearances

The Legion's siege of Neomuna in Lightfall is its best-known action, where it assaulted the Neptunian city. It also held prisons on Earth and is deployed in the Pale Heart, Nessus, Neptune, Europa and The Reef. It appears as enemies in Lightfall and the Root of Nightmares raid, and in Season of Defiance, Season of the Deep, The Final Shape, Episode: Echoes, Episode: Revenant and Lawless.

Goals

Under the Witness and Calus, the Legion aimed to serve the Witness, occupy Neomuna, link the Veil to the Traveler and capture Earth's civilians. Under Yirix it pursued the Echo on Nessus, and under Fikrul it captured live Eliksni for conversion.
