Ghost Shell

Overview

A Ghost shell is a cosmetic body for a Guardian's Ghost that can also give practical bonuses. Shells are equipped to a Ghost to give it additional attributes, such as flagging nearby items on the HUD, boosting experience or Glimmer gain, or adding token rewards.

Shells have four mod sockets: Experience, Tracking, Economic and Activity. The Experience socket is open from the start. The Activity socket unlocks when the shell is Masterworked (rank 10), which also gives the shell ten energy. Activity mods have versions for strikes, Crucible and Gambit. Masterworking requires Glimmer and Enhancement Cores.

Acquisition

Shells come from many sources. Most are sold by Eververse, either from her storefront or through Bright Engrams, and she supplies most shells in each season's tables. Others come from the campaign, Legendary Shard purchases, Trials of Osiris flawless chests, specific raids and missions, pinnacle activities, events and Triumphs. Examples include the Horus Shell for winning Trials of Osiris matches, the Moonshot Shell for exploring the Moon and Sagira's Shell for completing Lost Prophecies. Shells can be re-obtained from the Collections menu.
