Gilgamesh

Overview

Gilgamesh was the Ghost of Katabasis. After the Collapse he resurrected Katabasis as his chosen Guardian, and the pair served the Vanguard protecting the Last City.

Death

Aboard the Glykon Volatus, after Scorn were freed and roamed the ship, Katabasis ordered Gilgamesh to stay dead until help arrived. Gilgamesh was consumed by whispers from the Darkness and repeatedly resurrected Katabasis in dangerous areas, aiming to get the Scorn to cut their connection to the Light. Katabasis was forced to kill his Ghost with a barrage of rifle shots, which doomed him.

This happened before the events of Presage. The death is recounted in the Captain's Log of Season of the Chosen.
