K1

K1 was a late Golden Age research project on Luna, run by the Aeronautics of China with the Clovis Bray corporation. Its goal was to uncover secrets believed to be withheld by the Traveler, and its centre was an artifact found beneath the Moon's surface in Mare Cognitum, reached through the K1 Revelation dig site.

The crew was led by Commander Kuang Xuan and Captain Hou Ye. Neuropsychiatrist Dr. Wade Bow diagnosed most of the exposed crew with insomnia, nightmares, narcolepsy and hallucinations, and staff were driven to madness by the artifact. The project's sites were later overrun by the Hive and Fallen and are now Lost Sectors, including K1 Logistics and K1 Communion.
