The Mausoleum is a private region of the Dreadnaught orbiting Saturn, in Episode: Heresy, home to Hive and Taken enemies and Dread. It links to the Hall of Souls, Hull Breach, Trenchway and The Founts.
Overview
The Mausoleum first appeared in the original Destiny with The Taken King, as a public area with the event 'Enemies Moving Against Each Other' and three patrol beacons. Its enemies there were Blood of Oryx and Skyburners, fighting Hive, Taken and Cabal. In Episode: Heresy it is a private area with Dire Taken, Dread, Xivu Arath's Horde and Lucent Brood.
Chests
- 'A Scent is Key': needs no key. Get the 'scent of the worm' buff from a cave, then you have one minute to jump across invisible platforms and open the chest while avoiding blind Thralls. It holds an Engram, a Rune and a Calcified Fragment.
- Skyburner locked chest (original Destiny): needs a Skyburners key, earned by killing a summoned Cabal champion and clearing a signal task from Cayde-6. Then kill the marked Cabal commanders in the Founts prison before time runs out.
Derealize
The Mausoleum is where the Derealize Exotic mission begins. The mission is locked behind the hidden Barrow-Dyad Exotic quest chain, which starts in The Nether. Derealize launches from your Director under The Nether.
Derealize walkthrough
- Start on the floor bed of the Mausoleum. Clear the Dread and Subjugator forces, then the Subjugator miniboss, to remove the Darkness resonance field that protects a portal.
- Go through the portal and defeat Vrhiisk, Seeker of Power. Manage the adds, collect and deposit relics, and remove its shield with a Blight.
- Solve the No Escape plate puzzle by activating four Hive runes in the correct order.
- Cross the wall-jumping section, destroy the Hive crystals and break the forcefield to reach the boss arena.
- Defeat Xir-Kuur and its pair of Hive Knights by alternating damage between them. Then seal the arena by stepping into the Hive capture plate.
Rewards
Finishing the mission completes the Derealize run and gives the Barrow-Dyad, a hidden Exotic submachine gun. Claim the second Barrow-Dyad Exotic quest at the slab in Eris' apartment for extra crafting options on the weapon.
