Middlegame

Middlegame is the 27-puzzle chess sequence inside the Unknown Antechamber.

Access

The Antechamber is reached from Eris's Apartment in The Last City. Enter the Hive Portal to her Throne World, then drop from the middle platform into a hidden room with a chessboard. Entry requires all 60 Chess Pieces, or a fireteam leader who already has them. Once the Antechamber has been entered, Middlegame and Endgame can be launched from The Last City node in the Director.

Rewards

Solving all 27 puzzles unlocks the En Passant triumph. Each solved puzzle gives Glimmer, Seasonal Weapons and Lore Entries.

Endgame

Completing the puzzles, or using the skip sequence, unlocks the Endgame, which yields a chest with an Exotic Ship (Deinterlace), a shader, an emblem, an Exotic Cipher, Ascendant Shards, Strange Coins and Curio of the Nine. The skip sequence bypasses the Middlegame rewards.
