Monte Carlo

Monte Carlo is a Kinetic Exotic Auto Rifle with a bayonet, returning from the first Destiny.

Overview

Its perk, "Monte Carlo Method", reduces your melee cooldown when you deal damage and gives a chance to fully charge melee on each kill. It fires at 600 RPM from a 43-round magazine. It was PlayStation-exclusive in Destiny Year One, and came to Destiny 2 in Season of the Undying.

Acquisition

• Quest "Timeline Reflection" from Ikora Rey in the Tower: replay the Timeline missions "Cayde's Fate" (Forsaken), "Crux of Stasis" (Beyond Light) and "Lucent Hive" (The Witch Queen) then return to Ikora.
• Exotic engrams and Xûr.

Catalyst

The catalyst drops from Vanguard Ops, Crucible and Gambit, then needs 700 kills. It enables the Markov Chain buff; at 5 stacks you can use the bayonet melee ("Stochastic Vengeance"), which grants melee energy on hits.
