Nightmare of Caiatl

Overview

Nightmare of Caiatl, Princess-Imperial is the final boss of the Duality dungeon. The encounter has a constant stream of enemies, so the page advises bringing a loadout built for survival.

Encounter

• Essence phase: Four chains hang in the room, each with a symbol, and two glow. Kill the Bell Keepers, shoot the Bell to enter the Nightmare Realm, and kill the Psion beside the platforms to drop Standard Essences. Return to reality to deposit them, then repeat for the other symbols.
• Chains: Once all four Standards are deposited, the chains glow red and can be damaged. Destroying all four sounds the large Bell and pulls the fireteam into the Nightmare Realm with Caiatl.
• Damage phase: Caiatl walks toward one of three Bells. Kill the Bell Keepers nearest that Bell, wait until she is close, then shoot it to stun her. Standing inside the Bell circle grants the Waking Resonate buff, which greatly increases damage. Repeat for all three Bells, then return to reality. The encounter repeats until she is defeated.

Anyone outside a Bell's circle when it is shot and the party returns to reality dies.
