Nightmare of Caiatl, Princess-Imperial

Overview

The Nightmare of Caiatl, Princess-Imperial is the final boss of the Duality dungeon. The fight takes place in the Material Realm and the Nightmare Realm, and the fireteam must collect Standards and stun the boss at the bells.

Walkthrough

1. Kill the Bellkeepers in the Material Realm, then enter the Nightmare Realm.
2. Defeat the Standard Bearers on the matching balconies to collect Standards. Killing the wrong Standard Bearers penalizes the timer.
3. Deposit the Standards back in the Material Realm, and repeat until all four are placed.
4. Shoot the glowing red gem behind a receptacle to ring the giant Bell. This pulls the fireteam and Caiatl into the Nightmare Realm for the damage phase, and the Nightmare Collapsing timer is suspended.
5. Caiatl runs toward one of three small Bells. Kill the two Bellkeepers guarding her target, then shoot that Bell just before she reaches it.
6. A successful stun damages her and grants the Waking Resonance buff, which greatly increases damage for about 10 seconds. If she reaches a Bell unstunned, she escapes and the fireteam returns to the Material Realm.
7. Defeat Caiatl to complete the dungeon. Eris Morn extracts the Guardians.

Rewards

The encounter drops two weapon or armor items, plus any weapons already collected. Heartshadow can also drop, and completing certain Thoughtstealer triumphs raises its drop rate.

Triumphs

Perfected Thoughtstealer requires completing all encounters in Duality solo, without dying and without leaving the activity. Full-completion triumphs must be done in a single session without leaving or using checkpoints.
