Presage (Expert)

Overview

Presage (Expert) is the higher-difficulty version of the Exotic Mission Presage, playable aboard the abandoned Cabal frigate Glykon near the Tangled Shore. This difficulty is officially called Legend mode and was introduced alongside the base Presage mission in Season of the Haunted.

Mechanics and Modifiers

Legend mode features a fixed Power level of 1815 while enemies scale to 1830, applying 25% extra incoming damage to the fireteam. The difficulty includes Locked Loadout, restricting weapon swaps mid-activity. Intrinsic modifier bonuses apply to Scout Rifle, Strand and Arc damage. Unlike earlier seasons, the completion timer was removed, allowing teams to progress at their own pace without time-pressure mechanics.

Difficulty Encounters

Scorn enemies appear in increased density, particularly Abominations in enclosed sections. Environmental hazards including the Darkness fog gates require precise timing to navigate using the Egregore Link buff (15 seconds per activation). Platforming sections that were optional on Standard difficulty become mandatory in Legend mode, punishing mistakes with wipe conditions.

Rewards

Dead Man's Tale Catalyst: Legend completions award progression toward the exotic weapon's Catalyst upgrade. Multiple runs are required to fully complete the Catalyst. The weapon itself drops with its signature Cranial Spike perk. Additionally, all Standard mode rewards including Season of the Haunted weapons (Bump in the Night, Hollow Denial) and armor from the Bushido and Eutechnology sets can drop at 1815 power levels.
