Prestige difficulty

Prestige difficulty is a harder mode for Destiny 2 activities, mainly raids, with tougher enemies, changed mechanics and cosmetic rewards. It was introduced with the Leviathan raid, and Prestige mode launched on October 18, 2017, about a month after Destiny 2's release.

Overview

Prestige versions raise enemy power and change encounters. In the Leviathan raid, enemy power rose from 270 to 300, the first three encounters changed order each week, and the Gauntlet and Baths gained new per-player tasks.

Rewards

Completing a Prestige raid rewards a golden shader for armor and weapons and a gold and purple reskin of the raid armor. After the raid, players also receive a weapon or armor piece at 300 power, an emblem and a temporary aura.

Access

In December 2017, Prestige versions of the Leviathan raid and the Dusk strike were made to require Curse of Osiris and a power level of 330. Players without the expansion could only reach 305 and could not enter these activities. Activities that are not locked, such as the Legend of Acrius weapons-merchant strike, were still open to everyone but scaled to 330.

Trivia

The details above come from 2017 reporting. Later seasons and expansions may have changed which activities have Prestige versions and how they work.
