Vengeance, Denied

Overview

Vengeance, Denied is an Episode: Revenant triumph for completing Kell's Vengeance, the special Contest of Elders run against Skolas. It awards 10 triumph score and was required for the Slayer Baron seal.

Original completion route

1. Finish the Revenant Act III story to unlock Kell's Vengeance. Enter with at least two players; this variant requires teammates to pass its boss mechanic.
2. Complete the first two encounters while meeting the timed bonus objectives. Failing the Warden's Gaze objective causes a wipe, so prioritize its requested kills or actions over ordinary enemy clearing.
3. At Skolas, pass Devouring Essence to a teammate before its timer runs out. The previous holder temporarily has Drained of Essence and cannot immediately take it back; call out the handoff and leave enough time to regroup.
4. Defeat a Revenant Baron, destroy its Revenant Totem and let the essence holder collect the dropped mote. That player deposits Enhanced Essence into the Servitor emitting red vapor. Complete three deposits to start boss damage.
5. Damage Skolas while destroying the red Dark Ether orbs that travel toward him and restore his health. Assign one player to these orbs if they repeatedly undo the team's damage. Repeat the mechanics until the encounter is complete.

Rewards and availability

The first activity clear awarded Renunciation, an Exotic ship. This is an activity reward; claiming the triumph itself awards score and seal progress. Kell's Vengeance and the original Contest of Elders were retired on 15 July 2025 with The Edge of Fate, so this legacy completion route is no longer available.
