History of Winterbite

Winterbite is an Exotic Stasis Glaive introduced with Destiny 2: Lightfall.

Overview

Its intrinsic, Big Frigid Glaive, fires a slow-moving Stasis crystal that damages and temporarily freezes enemies. It is a heavy-slot Glaive.

Acquisition

Winterbite is the reward of the Strider Exotic quest, given by Quinn Laghari in the Hall of Heroes on Neomuna.

1. Accept the quest from Quinn.
2. Spend keys on a Terminal Overload key chest in each of the three Neomuna areas: Zephyr Concourse, Ahimsa Park and Liming Harbor. The Terminal Overload event rotates daily, so this takes at least three days.
3. Defeat Shadow Legion forces in Neomuna for location data, then clear the Lost Sector in Ahimsa Park for a Data Cipher.
4. Report back with your findings.
5. Repair Strider's memorial.
6. Destroy the Hydras and shut down the Vex confluxes at Maya's Retreat.
7. Collect the reward from Quinn in the Hall of Heroes.

Catalyst

The catalyst adds Rimestealer: destroying a Stasis crystal or defeating a frozen target with Winterbite grants Frost Armor. It was added with the Monument of Triumph update and belongs to the general ritual drop pool: it can drop at random on completing Vanguard Ops, Crucible or Gambit activities, and Exotic Order payouts turned in at the Seasonal Hub give extra rolls at catalysts you are missing.
