Cabal Phalanx

The Cabal Phalanx is a shielded Cabal enemy. It first appeared in The Law of the Jungle and has returned in many Destiny 2 seasons and expansions.

Overview

Phalanxes carry an energy shield that they can expand to cover several Cabal soldiers. Guardians can walk through the expanded shield. Shooting the glowing icon at its center, or using a Suppressor Grenade, deactivates the shield and stuns the Phalanx for a few seconds.

Appearances

Phalanxes belong to many Cabal legions, including the Blind Legion, Dust Giants, Sand Eaters, Siege Dancers, Skyburners, Broken Legion, Red Legion, Calus's Loyalists, Imperial Cabal, Shadow Legion and Totality Division. In Destiny 2, Red Legion Phalanxes have jump jets, which give them limited flight and a weak spot on their backs.

Trivia

In the original Destiny, the Phalanx's Cabal Shield was immune to incoming damage. Players could stun the Phalanx by shooting its exposed arm.
