Ice Breaker

Ice Breaker is an Exotic Solar sniper rifle made by Häkke. It returned to Destiny 2 in Episode: Revenant, having first appeared in Destiny 1.

Overview

• Archetype: semi-automatic Sniper Rifle (about 49 RPM, 10-round magazine per one guide).
• Intrinsic perk No Backpack: final blows or assists with any other weapon or ability have a chance to create Ice Breaker ammo (more against powerful enemies). Precision kills or shattering frozen targets cause ignitions. In Destiny 1 it instead regenerated one round every six seconds, so the Destiny 2 version is kill-driven.

Acquisition

• Random drop from the final encounter of the Vesper's Host dungeon, with improved odds from the dungeon's triumphs (Destinypedia, Blueberries.gg). Blueberries.gg also mentions a "Rogue Network" quest.
• Previously in Destiny 1 it was a drop and was reissued in Year 3 via a Sunrise Nightfall bounty.

Catalyst

The Icing Breaker catalyst is found through a hidden puzzle in Vesper's Host: with Ice Breaker equipped, shoot four Stasis crystals (two before the Servitor, two after) that each reveal a number, then enter the combined code in the secret loot room. Once unlocked it needs 500 kills to finish. Effect: hitting slowed or frozen targets has a chance to return rounds to the magazine. Blueberries.gg rates the gun B-tier in PvE and A-tier in the Crucible.
