History of Khvostov 7G-0X

Khvostov 7G-0X is an Exotic Kinetic Auto Rifle from the Final Shape era, an upgrade of the starter Khvostov 7G-02.

Overview

• Archetype: 600 RPM Auto Rifle, 42-round magazine.
• Intrinsic perk The Right Choice: every seventh bullet deals extra damage and ricochets to nearby targets (empowered with Orbs of Power).
• The Destiny 1 version (Rise of Iron) had no exotic perk but customizable firing modes.

Acquisition

1. Finish the Final Shape campaign to open The Pale Heart as a patrol space.
2. Progress Destined Heroes until Micah-10 unlocks, then complete his Convalescence quests until "Alone in the Dark" unlocks. Completing it opens all six Cysts.
3. Unlock the legendary Khvostov 7G-02: collect 15 Lost Encryption Bits (9 from Region Chests, 6 from rubble in Cyst activities). Together they form a Lost Encryption Code, which opens the golden chest near The Divide, reached from The Impasse.
4. Collect 17 Motes of Light: 9 from Overthrow bosses and 8 from "Visions of the Traveler" collectibles.
5. Place all eight Visions on the pedestals at the old Tower, where the Speaker used to be, to make the Exotic chest appear, then open it to claim Khvostov 7G-0X. The item's in-game source is Exploring the Pale Heart.

Catalyst

Added with the Monument of Triumph update, the catalyst grants Attrition Orbs: continuous hits generate an Orb of Power based on the number of targets hit. It belongs to the general ritual drop pool, so it can drop at random on completing Vanguard Ops, Crucible or Gambit activities, and Exotic Order payouts turned in at the Seasonal Hub give extra rolls at catalysts you are missing.
