Master Ives

Master Ives was the Awoken Cryptarch of the Vestian Outpost on The Reef. He decrypted engrams for Guardians and bought artifacts and Royal Amethyst from them, working alongside the Queen's Guard.

Overview

Ives was murdered sometime after Destiny 2: Forsaken. The investigation was launched during the Festival of the Lost: Petra Venj contacted Amanda Holliday, who sent the Guardian to look into it.

The Lost Cryptarch

The investigation spans the European Dead Zone and the Cosmodrome. In the EDZ the Guardian finds some of Ives's lost journal pages and Fallen-linked clues, then his Cryptarch robes in the Whispered Falls. Amanda Holliday then sends the Guardian to the Cosmodrome, which had been quarantined since the SIVA Crisis.

Killer

The killer was Kikliss, a Fallen Captain of the House of Dusk. The Guardian defeats him in the Breach, along with the Servitor Rudriks-9. Ives's Last Engram, recovered afterward, awards the Thunderlord. Amanda Holliday notes that the Fallen's motive was unclear and that the killing was most likely part of something larger.
