PsiOps Battlegrounds

PsiOps Battlegrounds are matchmade three-player seasonal activities introduced in Season of the Risen alongside Destiny 2: The Witch Queen. Fireteams hunt Lucent Hive Lightbearers empowered by Savathûn, sever their link to the Light, and bring them in for study by Empress Caiatl's Psions.

Overview

• Type: Seasonal arena / later a Vanguard Ops playlist entry (folded into Vanguard Ops with Destiny 2: Lightfall).
• Launch: Originally unlocked after the early Witch Queen campaign and a visit to the Tower Hangar; now selected from the Vanguard Ops playlist.
• Difficulty: Normal and Legend versions. The seasonal version is recommended at Power 1500.

Battlegrounds

• PsiOps Battleground: EDZ (boss Mor'ak, Lightstealer; Legend)
• PsiOps Battleground: Cosmodrome (boss Uul'nath, Lightcleanser; Legend)
• PsiOps Battleground: Moon (boss Korosek, Thronebringer; Legend)

Mechanics

1. Clear the Hive position, killing Lightbearer-empowered enemies. Lucent moths spawn and must be shot before they empower other enemies.
2. Defeat a Lucent Reliquist and a Lucent Portalguard in each portal room to advance.
3. At the boss, damage it down by one third; Psions trap it and open a Mindscape arena.
4. Pick up a Synaptic Spear to kill the Aspects of Savathûn (they take no other damage), then finish the boss and its Ghost.

Rewards

Six weapons across damage types, the Tusked Allegiance armor set, and Runic Chests that granted Risen Umbral Energy for focusing during the season.
