Smothering Darkness

Smothering Darkness is a Cyst mission in the The Pale Heart, added with The Final Shape.

Overview

A Lost Sector-style activity in the Impasse area. You must destroy every Taken blight while unable to sprint or jump, then kill the Taken Knight boss. It shares its location with the Cyst mission "Aerial Ace"; ghostly birds near the exit of the area toggle (invert) which of the two is active.

How to launch

Finish the Alone in the Dark quest to unlock Cyst missions, then travel to the Cyst marker on the Pale Heart map when Smothering Darkness is active (three Cysts show at a time, each location hosting two missions).

Triumphs

A Time Trial variant (finish in under 4 minutes) counts toward the "Going Fast" triumph, according to community reports.
