The Dreaming City (triumph)

Overview

The Dreaming City is a triumph associated with the Forsaken expansion. Completing this lore book grants the player the Dreaming City triumph. The objective is to complete the lore book for the Dreaming City destination.

How to complete

To complete this triumph, the Guardian must finish the Dreaming City lore book. This destination is the most sacred location of the Reefborn Awoken and serves as the backdrop for an endless battle between the Awoken, their Guardian allies, and the Taken, Hive, and Scorn. The city was created by Mara Sov with the aid of the Ahamkara Riven and the Techeun Coven Mother Illyn. It is built upon a flat disk containing a "silver sea" and is encircled by a massive ring-shaped structure that controls access from the Tangled Shore.

The Dreaming City was originally the personal realm of the Queen, who left behind the Ahamkara Riven as a prisoner during the Taken War. After the city was overwhelmed by Oryx's Taken essence and later cursed by Riven's final wish, it became a contested zone. Petra Venj acts as the world vendor for the city, providing access to Guardians who have cleared the initial corruption. The area features endgame activities such as the Last Wish raid, the The Shattered Throne dungeon, and the Blind Well horde activity. Completion of the lore book requires engaging with the history and current state of this paracausal realm, which exists in a state of flux between physical reality and the Ascendant Plane.
