History of Voidwalker

Voidwalker is the Void subclass of the Warlock class, built around grenades, Devour and the Nova Bomb super.
Overview
Destinypedia describes the Voidwalker as an offence-focused, solo-friendly subclass rather than a support one, with notable practitioners including Ikora Rey, Toland and (formerly) Osiris. It was reworked as part of Void 3.0, which Bungie introduced with Destiny 2: The Witch Queen using Aspects and Fragments.
Abilities
- Supers: Nova Bomb with the Vortex and Cataclysm variants (Vortex leaves a large damaging singularity; Cataclysm fires tracking bomblets), and the roaming Nova Warp.
- Melee: Pocket Singularity, which detonates near an enemy, knocks targets away and applies Volatile.
- Grenades: Axion Bolt, Magnetic Grenade, Scatter Grenade, Suppressor Grenade, Void Spike, Void Wall and Vortex Grenade.
- Class abilities: Healing Rift and Empowering Rift.
Aspects
- Chaos Accelerant: charge grenades for more damage and a larger blast radius.
- Feed the Void: improves Devour for Warlocks.
- Child of the Old Gods is a Voidwalker Aspect. Historical sources list former or alternate abilities, including Soul Siphon and Entropic Pull; consult current in-game descriptions for the current set.
Sources disagree
Older third-party guides and references do not all reflect the same Void 3.0 ability and Aspect set. Bungie’s 2022 update notes document the rework; consult current in-game descriptions for present tuning.
