Xir-Kuur

Xir-Kuur is a Hive Knight of Xivu Arath's horde, ranked Ultra, who challenged Oryx under the Sword Logic and was defeated and Taken. Xir-Kuur rejected Oryx's offer of power because it felt unworthy of it, so the being split into a Hive identity (Xir-Kuur, Not-Taken) and a Taken identity (Xir-Kuur, Taken), which stayed in the Dreadnaught for millennia.

Overview

Xir-Kuur is the boss of Derealize, the Exotic mission from Episode: Heresy. The mission is unlocked after finishing the Taken Path Exotic quest and is reached from the Director's The Last City node.

Encounter

Taking the Barrow-Dyad from the desk and destroying the Taken Blights summons Xir-Kuur, Not-Taken, a Hive Knight, with Void-shielded Taken Acolytes. After a third of its health is gone, the Taken form takes over. Killing the Not-Taken form merges the two into a colossal form that the player cannot defeat. Sealing it in the room requires standing on the plate in front of the door.
