Blast from the Past

Overview

Blast from the Past is the Exotic quest for The Chaperone, a kinetic slug Shotgun. It requires Beyond Light and is picked up from Shaw Han in the Cosmodrome or the Quest Archive in the Tower; one source says it was later moved to Variks on Europa in patch 4.0.0.1. Eight steps, a few hours in total. It is not sunset or removed that we could find, but this was not confirmed against current patch notes.

Sources disagree on who receives the data: older wiki text names Amanda Holliday, while the in-game step text in the database says Banshee-44. This page follows the in-game text.

Walkthrough

1. Defeat 100 combatants; stronger enemies give more progress.
2. Defeat 50 combatants with your Super and other class abilities. Supers are most efficient.
3. Present the Holliday Family Blueprint data to Banshee-44 in the Tower.
4. Wait while Banshee analyses it and complete the quest "A Guardian Rises".
5. Return to Banshee-44 in the Tower.
6. On Europa, defeat 100 targets and complete 3 Public Events.
7. In Gambit or Crucible, get 150 precision kills and 100 Shotgun kills. Guardians give the most efficient progress, so Crucible is the fast option.
8. Return the finished data to Banshee-44.
